In 1999, the Stars won 51 games, finished with a league’s best 114 points, and went on to win the Stanley Cup Final. The Stars have also won numerous division titles, conference championships and Presidents’ Trophies. Originally named the Minnesota North Stars, the team was renamed the Stars upon moving to Dallas, since Texas is known as the Lone Star State.
